Shafaath obtained his B.Proc from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal (formerly University of Natal – Durban) in 1995.
He was duly admitted as an Attorney in November 1997.
In 2005 Shafaath obtained his Right of Appearance in the High Court of South Africa.
Shafaath has also acted as a Judicial Officer in the Regional Court.
He is also a Commissioner of the Small Claims Court and an Assessor in the High Court of South Africa.
